In a highly industrialised country like Germany, technologies do not just form a basis for prosperity, they transform society.

The technologies in the purview of the NanoMicroMaterialsPhotonic.NRW state cluster are all technologies of the future. They have the potential to yield innovations in many areas of our lives, from which new approaches to solving problems can be derived to master the great challenges of our time such as climate protection and power supplies.

All the technologies the cluster is concerned with are part of the BMBF (Federal Ministry for Education and Research) High-Tech Strategy 2020 for Germany. The aim of this strategy is to create lead markets, develop cooperation between science and industry, and to further improve the general conditions for innovations.
